The high-altitude trail built in the years 1972-1975 runs on both sides of the mountain ridge of the Eschnerberg and past archaeological and historical sites.
45 boards along the trail provide information on archaeological sites from the history of the five Unterland communities, of field names and legends as well as natural history events. Hiking the trail has its attractions at any time of the year. Wayside shrines and crosses are expressions of the religiousness of the local population.
